The Gypsies have nothing at all to do with the origins of tarot cards and the tarot was not designed for “psychic training” Sandy Anastasi is one of all too many frauds making money from tarot card reading by falsifying the history of these cards. Researchers have a pretty good idea that they first appeared in 15th century Italy. They were not used for any psychic purpose until the 18th century. The media should be more skeptical and stop promoting the lies being told by these psychic frauds. Tarot was made for card games. Google the terms “tarot card games” “tarock” “french tarot” or “jeu de tarot” and you will find a boatload of info on how Tarot is currently used for game playing. Tarot cards are not myserious. The information about them is now on the internet. There is no excuse for this poor quality of journalism.
